God says, “Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters.” This is not merely a human invitation. It is the voice of the merciful God. He sees men and women turned away from him, listening to the world, and seeking satisfaction where the soul can never be satisfied.
The invitation is wide and sincere. It is not addressed only to the well-prepared. It is for thirsty sinners, for the weary, for the empty, for those who have nothing with which to purchase salvation. God says, “Come, buy without money and without price.”
You may ask, “May I come?” Yes. God invites the thirsty, not the perfect. Grace is not a commodity to be bought; it is a gift to be received.
The world offers water that leaves the soul thirsty again. Christ gives living water to those who come to him. Stop seeking satisfaction in broken cisterns, and come to the Savior.
If your soul is thirsty, do not wait until you are better. Come now. The God who calls you is faithful, and the living water in Christ is enough for you.
