Let me ask you one question: can you say, “The Lord is my righteousness”? Have you seen that your own righteousness is not enough, and that only the righteousness of Christ can clothe a sinner before God?

The awakened soul does not say, “I am good enough.” It says, “Give me Christ. I need Christ. I need the righteousness of Christ.” When faith lays hold of Jesus, the soul can say, “My beloved is mine, and I am his.”

If this is true of you, do not fear. Christ is your righteousness. Who can condemn you? Christ died for you; more than that, he was raised and ever lives to intercede for you.

The beauty of the believer does not come from the believer. It comes from the beauty God gives in Christ. Therefore do not rest in your feelings, efforts, or achievements. Rest in Christ, your perfect righteousness.
