Mission is not the work of a few special people in distant countries. God has entrusted the Gospel to the church, and every believer can share in that calling from where they are. A missionary is not a hero detached from the church, but a believer sent by the church and supported by the church’s shared responsibility.

Mission Means Proclaiming the Gospel and Planting Churches
Mission cannot be reduced to doing good activities, though mercy and service matter deeply. At the center of mission is the proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the making of disciples through the Word, and the planting of churches that worship God. If the Gospel disappears, the heart of mission disappears.
A Missionary Is a Sent Believer
A missionary is not a higher class of Christian. He or she is still a weak believer who needs grace. Every Believer Can Participate

The Church Is a Sending Community
The church must prepare, send, care for, and share responsibility with missionaries. Even a small church can participate in mission. The measure of mission is not only numbers or money, but faithfulness to the Gospel and love for all nations. A church that waits for the day when every people worships God is a church learning to send.
