สุภาษติ สอนว่าการยําเกรงพระเจ้าเป็นปั ญญาแท้ และยังเปี่ ยมลน้ ด้วยคําสอน สําหรับการดําเนินชีวิตในแง่มุมต่าง ๆ ตัวอย่างเช่น พระวจนะที่ตักเตือนคน เกียจคร้าน (บทที่ 6) เป็นสิ่งที่แม้แต่คนทัว่ ไปก็รู้จักกันดี นอกจากนี้ยังมีคําสัง่ สอน “แก่ลูกชาย” ใหร้ ะวังหญิงชัว่ และคําสอนใหด้ ูแลครอบครัวให้ดี สุภาษติ จึง เป็นคําสอนที่คริสเตียนในปั จจุบันควรจดจําและปฏิบัติตามในชีวิตประจําวัน แต่ เหนือสิ่งอ่ืนใด สุภาษติ เน้ นย้ําซ้าํ แล้วซ้ําอีกว่า “การยําเกรงพระเจ้า ” คือปั ญญาที่ สูงสุด ขอให้เราสํารวจด้วยใจยินดีว่าผู้ชอบธรรมควรระวังสิ่งใด และปั ญญาที่ พระเจ้าทรงพอพระทัยคืออะไร
