The Story

Today the gospel calls us to consider not alone against temptation. This truth reaches ordinary life, shaping how we see God, interpret our circumstances, and respond to people. Our hearts often run to false refuges when life does not go as we hoped. We may say that we trust God while fear, control, or self-protection quietly leads us. Jesus Christ came to rescue us from sin deeper than our circumstances. He bore our guilt, opened the way back to the Father, and gives the Spirit to teach weak hearts to follow him. So receive this truth with humility today. Let it become confession, trust, and visible obedience in the real places where Christ is calling you to depend on him. Prayer Father, praise you for your mercy. Forgive me for trusting false refuges more than your promises. Thank you for Christ, my righteousness and hope. Holy Spirit, lead me into humble obedience today. In Jesus’ name, amen.
