The Story

We often use the word hope as a wish that life would go our way. We hope work succeeds, people change, and problems pass. But that kind of hope shakes because it is tied to things we cannot control. Biblical hope is deeper than a good desire. It is confidence in the God who rules all things with wisdom and power. We may not understand today’s events, but God is never confused by what happens. Jesus Christ is the firm foundation of this hope. He died and rose again to guarantee that God’s gracious plan will not fail. Those in Christ do not hope vaguely; they rest in the promises of the faithful God. True hope changes the way we live. It gives courage to be faithful before we see results, to obey before we understand everything, and to wait because our future is in the Father’s hands. Prayer Father, praise you for your mercy and faithfulness. Forgive my sin and teach me to depend on Christ today. Thank you for Jesus, who is my Savior and hope.
