The Story

We cannot understand God by experience, knowledge, or intelligence alone. The world may train us to measure life by reason and advantage, but the things of God, grace, and the cross require eyes opened by the Holy Spirit. Sin does not merely make us do wrong; it darkens our thinking. We may believe we are wise enough to choose the right way, but without God’s light, we easily call darkness comfort and the wrong road success. The gospel is not only teaching that gives new information; it is grace that enables the spiritually blind to see. Christ came to reveal the Father, and the Spirit enables our hearts to understand what God freely gives. So today, do not read the Word merely looking for quick answers. Come humbly, asking the Spirit to teach you to think after Christ, value grace, and walk in the truth God has revealed. Prayer Father, praise you for your mercy and faithfulness. Forgive my sin and teach me to depend on Christ today. Thank you for Jesus, who is my Savior and hope. Holy Spirit, help me trust, repent, obey, and walk in grace. In Jesus’ name, amen.
