The Story

The Bible is not a book that celebrates human heroes. It is the story of the Redeemer who changes weak and ordinary people by grace. This is good news for us because God does not always call the most prepared people. He calls people he will change. We often step back because we see our limits, but God sees us according to his purpose and grace. Jesus chooses weak people as his own, not so that we may boast in ourselves, but so that his grace may become clear. When weak people are changed, the glory belongs to God. Do not despise the work of grace in your life. Even when change seems slow, the Spirit is truly working. He shapes ordinary people into witnesses of Christ. Prayer Father who changes the weak, I praise you because your grace has power to do what I cannot do. Forgive me for despising the work of grace and seeing myself or others with hopeless eyes. Thank you for Jesus Christ, who chooses and changes the weak. Holy Spirit, shape me into a witness of Christ. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
