The Story

Fear rises when we look at ourselves and conclude that we do not have enough for what we face. We do not have enough strength, wisdom, stability, or control. For believers, fear is often the fruit of forgetfulness. We forget who God is, who we are as his children, and what he has already given us in Christ. The answer to smaller fears is not greater self-confidence, but a greater fear of God. When God becomes large in the eyes of the heart, other things become smaller. Do not let fear lead you today. Remember the God who reigns over all things and the Christ who is with you. The Spirit helps us keep walking by faith, even when the heart still trembles. Prayer Great Father, I praise you because you are greater than everything I fear. Forgive me for forgetting who you are and letting fear control my thoughts and choices. Thank you for Jesus Christ, who brings me near to the Father. Holy Spirit, teach me to fear God and walk by faith. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
