The Story

Relationships do not always collapse in a single day. Often they dry out slowly through neglect. We stop listening, stop asking, stop apologizing, and let small bitterness grow like weeds. We may care for possessions, work, or plans better than the people we say we love. Relationships in a world broken by sin need attention, because two sinners do not automatically produce peace. Christ did not neglect us. He came near, listened to our misery, bore our sin, and brought us back to the Father. His love changes us into people who begin to love first with humility. Ask today whether there is a relationship you are neglecting. Perhaps the next step is an apology, honest listening, or faithful prayer. The Spirit helps us care for people, not only tasks. Prayer Faithful Father, I praise you because you never neglect your children but care for them with steadfast love. Forgive me for neglecting people I should love and allowing bitterness to grow. Thank you for Jesus Christ, who came near to me first. Holy Spirit, help me love, listen, and care faithfully. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
