The Story

The heart that is trapped in sin often wants others to see us as better than we really are. We want to appear smarter, stronger, and more righteous than we actually are. So, sometimes we hide our weakness, conceal our sin, and pretend that we don't need help. But God's favor is not called us to a fake life. God does not accept us because of the image we create for ourselves, but because of what Jesus Christ has done for us. We are saved by His grace, not by our own actions. Therefore, we have nothing to boast about and do not need to pretend to be someone we are not. God gives us what we do not seek, and He forgives our sins in truth. Therefore, God makes us bold to be honest. We no longer have to create our identity from our achievements or from the opinions of others. Our true identity is in Christ; we are children of God by His grace. So, today, do not try to protect yourself with a false image. Admit your weakness, confess your sins, and ask for help. For in Jesus Christ, God knows us truly, forgives us completely, and loves us steadfastly. Dear Father, who is true and full of mercy, I praise you, because in Jesus Christ you know me truly and still love and forgive me. Please forgive me when I want to be better than I am, when I hide my weakness and try to boast in things that are not from me. Thank you, Jesus Christ, who died in our place and granted us the righteousness that we could not attain on our own. May the Holy Spirit free our hearts from hypocrisy and help us live with sincerity, humility, and trust in Your grace. Pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
