The Story

Sometimes we may feel lonely, weary, and as if no one understands our hearts. We may feel that our wounds are invisible and that no one cares, but the children of God are never truly alone, for the Father is always with us in love. Isaiah 42:3 says that He will not break the bruised reed, nor quench the smoking flax. This picture shows us the tender heart of God. Man may quickly judge the weak or make the suffering feel worse, but the Father is not like that. God has clearly revealed this love in Jesus Christ. Jesus knows our weakness, He is the Savior who is full of mercy and restores the broken sinner. When we are weak, He does not mock us. When we are discouraged, He does not abandon us. Therefore, if loneliness and despair enter your heart today, remember the gentle and faithful love of the Father. Although others may not understand us, in Jesus Christ, we are never forsaken. Dear Father, full of mercy and love, I praise You. You do not break the bruised reed, nor quench the smoking flax. Please forgive me when I forget Your love and get stuck in my own isolation. Thank you, Jesus Christ, who knows my weakness and helps me to be a child of God. Please let the Holy Spirit comfort me and help me to trust in the sincere love of the Father, praying in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
