The Story

God calls us to do things that we cannot do in our own strength. Noah could not put all the animals into the ark by himself. Moses could not lead the Israelites out of Egypt by his own power, and David could not defeat Goliath by his own strength. But God called them, and He provided everything they needed. The Scripture does not teach that the people of God are strong enough to do God's work by themselves, but it teaches that God uses the weak and gives them the necessary grace and strength. Our lives are the same, we cannot love others as Jesus loves us by our own strength. We cannot keep our hearts pure by ourselves, but God gives the Holy Spirit to believers and gives everything necessary for life and faith. So when God calls us to obey, do not look at your own weakness, but look to Jesus Christ, who is our strength. Today we can walk by faith because God who calls us will always give us strength. Dear Father, all-powerful and full of mercy, I praise you because you call the weak and provide all that is necessary for your children. Please forgive me when I look only at my own weakness and forget to trust in your power. Thank you, Jesus Christ, who has helped me to be saved and has given me the Holy Spirit to dwell in me. Please help me not to rely on my own strength, but on Your mercy, and walk in the path that You call me to, by praying in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
