The Story

The grace of God does not stop at making us do things differently. His grace transforms us at the deepest level of our hearts, making us truly new people. In Psalm 51, David did not pray only for God to help him change his behavior, but he prayed for God to create a clean heart in him. The problem of sin is not just in the environment or external actions, but it starts from the heart. We do not want a better situation, but a new heart. For we are sinners who cannot create a new heart for ourselves. A new heart is something that only God can create. Jesus Christ did not die just to improve our outward appearance. He gave Himself to us so that we might receive a new heart, and to continually change that heart by His grace. Dear Heavenly Father, I praise You because You have changed my heart to Jesus Christ. Please forgive me when I try to fix things on the outside, but refuse to deal with the sin in my heart seriously. I thank Jesus Christ, who gave me new life through the cross and resurrection. May the Holy Spirit deeply change my heart, so that I may truly love and obey Him. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
