The Story

We often try to prove who we are through our work, achievements, and the approval of others. We work hard to find meaning, purpose, peace, and admiration, and wait for someone to affirm our worth. But in Christ, we no longer have to search for our identity. The goodness of God connects us to Him, and God calls us His children. We do not work to gain identity, but work with gratitude in the identity that God has given us. Our value is not based on success, but on the grace received in Christ. Thus, failure does not have to destroy us, and success does not have to make us proud. In Christ, we are already children of God; this is a more stable truth than what we can or cannot do. Our Father, who has accepted us as your children, I praise you because you have given us your true self in Jesus Christ. Please forgive me when I try to prove my worth by my achievements or the approval of others. We thank You that You have called us to be Your children in Christ. May the Holy Spirit establish our hearts in Your grace, and may we work, serve, and live with gratitude, not out of fear of being worthless, praying in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
